Ambient dose equivalent

Ambient dose equivalent H*(d):  The ambient dose equivalent H*(d), at a point, is the dose equivalent that would be produced by the corresponding expanded and aligned field, in the ICRU sphere at a depth d in millimeters on the radius opposing the direction of the aligned field.  For measurement of strongly penetrating radiations, the reference depth used is 10 mm and and quantity is donoted H*(10).
